MEET SKAI

"My general approach to my art practice is that I enjoy expressing different approaches and concepts. Abstract painting is one where the artist defines the parameters and it is these parameters that I am always reaching to expand; mind, body and soul. At any given moment while I am creating a painting I am both in my body and outside it, I am the painting and the painter."

- Skai Art

A VANCOUVER-BASED ABSTRACT VISUAL ARTIST

Skai is a Canadian artist who began her pursuit in visual art using watercolours under the mentorship of a master painter, Ran jan Sen. To explore her natural artistic talents further, she enrolled at the Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, BC where she studied print-making, photography, curatorial and interdisciplinary studies.

Over the past three decades, Skai has had the opportunity to exhibit her work nationally and internationally in France, the United Kingdom and Hungary. While her art is on display at Studio 13 on Granville Island, she also invested in helping the new generation of artists through her teaching as an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia in the Theatre and Film Department.
